Gadget Stub"Inspector Gadget is always on duty!"

"Did You Myth Me?" is the 49th episode of Inspector Gadget.

While at the local Metro City library, Gadget is helping Penny gather material on ancient Greek history. After dropping off another armload of books, Gadget gets a call from Chief Quimby. Finding the Chief hiding out behind a large book, Gadget is informed of his next mission: M.A.D. has infiltrated the Greek Island of Thermos and it is his assignment to find the M.A.D. agents and stop whatever Claw is planning. Gadget tells Quimby that he'll leave immediately, drops the self-destructive mission assignment in Quimby's face, and puts the giant book back in place. After the explosion, Gadget tells Penny that he's off to Greece.

Penny is able to talk her uncle into taking Brain and her along with him to Greece. He drops them off at their hotel, but Penny feels that Gadget could use their help and sneaks away with him. Gadget arrives in typical style at the harbor where he meets the head historian of the Museum on the Island of Thermos. Going by boat (with Penny and Brain hiding on board), Gadget and the historian take a replica of the Trojan Horse to the island.

Unknown to anyone, there are M.A.D. agents inside the horse with an evil scientist named Daedalus that claims to know where an ancient formula is that can turn lead into gold. It is their mission to get on the island, find the formula, test it, and, if possible, eliminate Gadget.

After safely arriving on the island, Gadget is given a small tour of the exhibits. Two M.A.D. agents try to do him in by dropping a large slab of marble on him from above. Luckily for Gadget, Brain is there disguised as a statue of Pan and saves him. Not so lucky is the historian, who watches in horror as the giant statue of Zeus is smashed to bits by the resulting chaos. Inspector Gadget decides that there's a statue thief on the island and he goes out to search for him and leaves the historian to try and piece Zeus back together.

Daedalus exits the safe confines of the Trojan Horse and goes in search of the formula. Penny follows him to a room full of ancient statues of various Greek monsters. In the statue of Medusa, he finds the formula written on a small stone tablet. Overjoyed, he hurries back to the Trojan Horse.

Meanwhile, Gadget has wandered into the Maze of the Minotaur. Brain, still in his statue disguise, follows with a little bit of fear. But they're not alone inside the maze; a M.A.D. agent has activated a robotic Minotaur that begins to chase after Gadget. Not realizing the difference between a Minotaur and a regular bull, he tries to use a gadget cattle prod on it. However, his water gun fires instead which short circuits the Minotaur and it goes on a wild rampage. Brain narrowly escapes as the Minotaur busts through walls and to the outside. Gadget follows the path of destruction, exits the maze and continues his search.

Penny finds a way into the Trojan Horse and begins to spy on the scientist as he begins to make the formula. Claw, meanwhile, gives his minions another chance to get rid of Gadget. He gives them the go ahead to operate the giant Cyclops robot.

Gadget finally catches up to the "missing Pan statue" and wonders why it's covered in flour. Brain tries to not move, but he's shocked by the arrival of the robotic Cyclops. Gadget thinks that it's just an attraction and he activates his Gadget 'Copter. The giant robot grabs him by the propellers and flings him down and into the newly rebuilt Zeus statue, which crumbles to a million pieces again.

As Brain checks on Gadget, Gadget sees him move and thinks that he's a M.A.D. agent and runs him down to the docks where he cuffs him. The Cyclops isn't done with Gadget yet and begins another attack. Brain pulls the cord on Gadget's coat that inflates his suit and floats them to safety, though Gadget has no idea how they'll get down. A horn from Brain's disguise pops the suit and gets them down rather quickly.

Inside the Trojan Horse, Penny is able to thwart their plans by breaking off the formula before they read off the final ingredient. However, this only delays them as they figure out the last substance they need. Penny escapes, but with a shiny gold brick coming out of the pot, Daedalus smiles in triumph.

Back on the docks, Brain is able to blind the Cyclops with a well-placed barrel in its one eye. The M.A.D. agent operating it ends up steering the machine into the harbor. Soon after, the agent reenters the Trojan Horse where Penny had just broken the formula. But with the successful trial run, Claw tells his men to vacate the island.

The Trojan Horse transforms into a hovercraft and heads out into the water. Penny uses her computer book to break into their operating systems and directs the hovercraft back to shore. When it lands, it turns back into the horse and ends up on its side. The inside of the Trojan Horse is wrecked and with it, a startling revelation. The gold brick was still lead, it was just gold colored on the outside.

Chief Quimby soon arrives and arrests the M.A.D. agents. Gadget gets praised for another job well done while Claw's aero-aquatic car flies out of the sea and into the air, with Claw cursing Gadget.
